CAPILLARY MICRO GRAFTS
Alopecia is a disease that affects at least 50% of the male population and 30% of women, although it is traditionally a disease related far more to men than women.
Stress, hormonal problems and genetics are responsible for an increasing baldness. Depending on the person baldness it generates different degrees of discomfort and self-esteem problems, arouses anxiety, fear and makes concerned people use even miraculous potions to regain the lost hair.
Every day we are losing hundreds of hairs but the problem arises when there is no replacement, to move from a process of renewal of a hair to a complete loss.
Being bald can turn into a serious problem, create complexes, generate asocial reactions and even resort to all kinds of makeup, hats, creams, etc. Until they finally decide to consult for a surgery that can help solve their problem.
Until a few years ago this type of surgery left some very stigmatizing and non cosmetic results, but with new techniques developed at global level, we see the results today are very satisfactory and cosmetic.
Unfortunately many people still recall the results in “hair doll" appearance left by the old techniques and therefore refrain from attempting a surgical solution.
For this reason, the most current hair transplant is the use of micro-grafts, it consists in hair to hair grafts achieving a much more natural result than with conventional techniques.
Microcapillary transplant is an outpatient surgery, performed under local anesthesia. A small area of scalp from the back of the head is withdraw, which is taken to a microscope to obtain the micro grafts that must contain one or maximum two follicles per graft. These in turn will be taken to be placed one by one in the area that has the permanent hair loss.
It is a surgery that allows a quick return to the usual activities because the patient only needs two to three days of rest, avoid the sun during the first two months and use a especially recommended shampoo.
In some cases it may require a second stage which can be done six months later.
Normally approximately 4,000 to 5,000 micro grafts are placed in one session. The patient should be warned that the results are not immediate, because it takes time between the placement of a follicle and for this to a new hair so it is said that it can take between 3 and 8 months to see the real results of the procedure.
