VAGINOPLASTY - PERINEALPLASTY - POSTERIOR COLPORRHAPHY - GYNECOLOGICAL SURGERY

Vaginoplasty is the surgical repair of the vagina and perineum.

VAGINOPLASTY

Few women know that many of the direct injury to the vaginal canal at birth may be solved or improved through plastic surgery. Among the most common procedures are the Vaginoplasty or vaginal rejuvenation, a procedure that was born thanks to the many problems that exist for women in terms of their sexuality and the "taboo" that is the female satisfaction by the widening of the vagina.

The surgery aims to rebuild and improve those areas that suffered vaginal alterations, giving the patient the improvement on their self-esteem and quality of life. Because although not easy, these changes cause urinary incontinence, lack of pressure in the vagina, with the consequent lack of stimulation of the erogenous zones.

What Happens:

The support of the perineum is given by a group of muscles that hold within their filaments the organs of the female pelvis, these muscles over time and factors such as overweight and births lose their tensile strength allowing these organs to prolapse through the vagina, which then produces what gynecologists call as genital prolapse. This is classified as grade I being the mildest and III the most severe, in which the organs are completely prolapsed through the vagina.

Also during relaxation, these muscles enlarge the vagina giving the sensation of little strength, impairing sexual relationships.

Another frequent pathology is the variation in the size of the mayor labia, an occasionally congenital defect or secondary to multiple diseases.

Procedure:

Depending on the pathology that the patient has, a given type of surgery will be chosen. The duration is variable can take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour or more depending on the alteration. It is performed with general or regional anesthesia, in most cases is an outpatient care procedure.  The prior cares required are not having an active infection and usually Post-operative recovery is very well tolerated.  The incision is done longitudinally to the rectum and its size is variable, usually heals in a satisfactory manner and in time is difficult to notice it.

Among the most common complications are infections, pain during sex, inflammation and edema which have a specific management.

What kind of patients can apply to this surgery?
